Pagdalaw kay Mama Chit's sa Marikina City

Dambana ng Ina ng mga Walang Mag-ampon
Marikina City is located just beside Cainta, Rizal, where I am residing; but just to let you know, I haven't tried visiting some of the historical spots in that city, aside from Marikina Sports Complex where I do jogging, and Lola Helens Panciteria where we always eat panceat. Sabi nga nila konting push lang, tatlong kembot lang, dalawat kalahating tambling lang, Marikina na, but I really have no idea why I can't visit the city so often.

First Destination: since there was no parking space available on some streets, we decided to park our vehicles at the old church of Marikina (photo above.)

After parking, we walked less than 200 meters going to Mama Chits which is located near the shoe museum. This food house was already featured on some blogs and KrisTV of ABS-CBN, so we tried it. Inside the resto are different oldies but goodies paraphernalia. From old photos, paintings, phones, jars, coins, cabinet, kitchen wares, and other household figurines; to collectibles items like car plate numbers and logos of some car manufacturers. The ambiance of the location is good and beside the high way, so it is accessible to everyone especially those people who are coming from the church.

Photo Above by Joyce. Here we are! Can you define "enormous burjer?" Look at that, the one we're holding, isn't it amazing? Photo on the right is the close up shot of such an amazing burjer. I wasn't able to get the measurements, like the thickness, circumference, and the weight; pag-gutom ako, wala nang arte-arte sa mga measurement measurement na yan.

As what you can see, the bread has a golden brown color, with sprinkled sesame seeds on top. With thick patty, fresh lettuce, mayo and other secrets -> resulting to a mouth watering experience. We stayed here for more than an hour, hindi kasi namin ma-identify sa mga photos kung sino si Mama Chit's. When were done eating, we crossed the street and proceeded to a girl who sells puto, then we asked her kung naabutan nya si Mama Chit's, and she said: "hindi na, anak nya yung cashier."

Photo Above, taken at Marikina River
Our last destination was the famous Marikina River, why famous? Typhoon Ondoy hit this location so so, as in so bad, right? but after few years, Marikina river is now back to normal, but still I know that there are people who still have fear every time that the rain pours. Photo on the right is the statue of Maria Quina, she is a legendary and kind woman of Marikina City. Anung pinagkaiba ng suot namin ni madam? Tangkad niya no? Pang Bb. Pilipinas sana. But wait, can you see that ribbon on her neck? That's the level of the water in the area during Ondoy, and that's the only reason why madam survived, hanggang neck lang kasi yung tubig, make sense? hhhmmm, doesn't make sense.

Anyways, we stayed in the area for more than an hour, and we were talking about our past, the present and then the future. Mainit ang mga panahong iyun kaya sumilong kami dun sa mala-korean inspired structure, just beside the river. The wind was cool, yun lang masasabi ko sa wind, hindi ko siya makita eh, kung nakikita ko si wind, ay dey sana marami akong masasabi tungkol sa kanya, make sense? Doesn't make sense, right? Our Marikina tour was an amazing and unforgettable experience. In behalf of WAVE 61, we thank you Mr. Tour Guide -> Jei Pee for your time, for us "you're the best!"
